    Reverse Osmosis Systems

A few years ago I was on a plane and the guy next to me was some type of water expert that flew to different cities and worked on water filtration systems. I always wondered why the city I lived in didn't use just plain chlorine in the drinking water. He told me that when there is chloramine in...

    Annuity Advice

Your 8% return might be some interest and some principal returned to you. In my opinion annuities are bad investments. They also add bonus cash and that is mystery money, but on paper it looks like growth of principal. I have attended annuity sales lunches, just for the food. To listen to these...

Value in vitamin and mineral supplements

I am skeptical of studies, who's doing them, how good are they, who paid for the study, and how many people did they study and how long. Coffee good for you, then bad, now good. Red wine bad and now 2 a day is good. Butter bad for you margarine good, now butter not so bad. Cigarettes good for...

    Deferred Compensation Savings Plan

I was in a dc program and we could use Vanguard and pick our poison. I would not be comfortable investing where I work, not diversified enough for me. Also 50% of your income is not tax deferred, only a portion of it is, depending on your age. Older people can play catch up.

    Retire at 40

I retired at 40 and it only lasted 5 years. Did everything on the bucket list and then got bored and got another job. The extra money and another retirement check was a smart move. I probably was a little underfunded besides and you never have to much money.

    Considering MFG home- questions

I have a number of friends in Florida that snow bird in mobile homes. It's cheap living if you own your own land and don't get home owners insurance. The problem with them is as they get older upkeep increases and the value decreases. There harder to sell and it's not a good idea to improve them...

I requested the X-ray because she hasn't had one for a long time, otherwise your right they normally don't do that. The first thing the doctor wanted to know if we had another X-ray to compare it to and we did not. She quit smoking 19 years ago but that's no guarantee of future problems...

LDL Measurements and Statin Use Poll

At the doctors office I have heard the drug salesman asking my doctor if he was a football or baseball fan etc. He had tickets to everything. I have also heard that doctors that prescribe certain drugs in large quantities get incentives. Can't prove the last statement, but the first one is true.

LDL Measurements and Statin Use Poll

I want to throw this in the discussion, extreme work outs 6 times per week and a very low fat diet, did nothing for my chol level. Statins did.
