    Feeling guilty

Hey, if you got the financials and stay active in yer own way, that's nothin to feel guilty ago. Congrats on your decision, it takes a lot to pull yourself away from the day-to-day grind (I'm feeling a bit of that worry myself).

Want to retire and just travel...

To the original poster: that is definitely a great dream, and a lot of the other comments are brimming with great advice (particularly Niko, although taylshaw makes it sound like he might already have a nestegg?). Why not just save up, though, to take your own trips and be creative, rather than...

Bored? Research indicates it may be your own darn fault.

I find that my boredom coincides with my energy levels, although I'm not sure yet how they influence one another (ie, do I get bored when I'm tired or tired when I'm bored?). I will say that after working for years in the same field, you get disillusioned with life in general, you've gotten so...

    2008 and all's..... Well?

It's a joke, but the market HAS really changed. A buddy of mine was planning on selling his re and retiring in mid-2007...well, you can imagine how that went. Sad but (not) ironic...

It already is, in my opinion, but then it's hard to think of anything less respectable than stand-up comedy in my opinion.

How many other "collectors" do we have?

Haha! There's one in my area who looks like a plastic Fabio... I collect vintage folk records, a lot of early field recordings from the A. Lomax days on scratchy 78s. Still, there are worse things to be spending one's money on than American music...like modern American music, for instance...

    Anyone Have Difficulty Donating Blood?

I've always wanted to donate blood, but I've got a pretty bad coffee addiction...:) No, actually I did it a few times, felt pretty faint afterward but they did give me a free cookie of some sort, if I remember correctly.
