The Medicare Part B standard monthly premium will be $164.90 for 2023, a decrease of $5.20 from $170.10 in 2022. The Part B annual deductible will be $226 in 2023, a decrease of $7 from $233 in 2022.

Medicare Part A inpatient hospital deductible will be $1,600 in 2023, an increase of $44 from $1,556 in 2022.

There are charts in this link for 2023 B/D IRMAA.

Thanks, need the good news today. So they actually gave some credit for the Alzheimers drug.

That's a nice surprise, though we knew it was possible.

Am I reading the rest right? Not only did A&B go from $170.10 down to $164.90, the 1st tier IRMAA penalty went from $68.00 down to $65.90 and the Part D hit went from $12.40 down to $12.20!!!

So our monthly premium goes from $250.50 down to $243.00 in 2023!

And the second tier threshold went from $222K in 2021 (2019 income), $228K in 2022 (2020 income) all the way up to $246K in 2023 (2021 income)!

WOW! Or I'm misreading...

Looks that way to me as well.

It’s because of that crazy expensive but not effective Alzheimer’s drug recently approved by the FDA they added last year that caused Medicare premiums to go up extra. Later they decided to drop it, but I guess decided to wait until next year to reimburse on premiums.

That Alzheimer’s drug has been very controversial. Reducing amyloid plaques doesn’t appear to reduc cognitive decline.

So does this mean that the SS raise of ~8% all goes right in the pocket without Medicare diluting it?
