DW extended her winter stay in Mexico by two months. Most of her Rx medications are readily available there from pharmacies at a cost comparable to the out of pocket cost / copay in the US. One tablet is not readily available there. No problem, said I, -- I will ship a box of them to you. I paid handsomely for a two day express package delivery from UPS. The package has spent the past nine days awaiting customs clearance in the UPS warehouse in Mexico City and my guess is that it will sit there indefinitely. This is not a controlled substance or anything like that -- just a standard maintenance medicine that millions of people take daily in both the US and Mexico. It seems that I fallen afoul of some regulatory or non-regulatory barrier to completing this apparently simple task. Does anyone have successful experience of shipping personal meds like this and have any advice / playbook to share?
