I’ve never heard of turf lifting during our Santa Ana’s. If you’re talking tornado level winds, well. . .

I’m sure they’ve figured out how to secure them, after decades in use for football/soccer fields all over the world. They use spikes or staples at edges and seams, more if needed. Some are glued down depending on the substrate, but not residential I suspect.
