Give me a museum and I'll fill it. (Picasso) Give me a forum ...
I own some Vanda Pharma stock and with the current market cap today (540m) and the current cash on hand stated (440m), I was thinking about their ability to weather inflation over the next number of years.
Is there a way to find out exactly what that $440m is invested in? Do companies usually keep it in short term bonds?
If it is reasonably "safe" then the company has a net market cap of $100m with revenue of $260m, and generates $30m to $50m of profit each year.
I am having to find reasons not to buy more (big reason is if they do something stupid with the $440m like buy another company or get a bad judgement against them).
Hmm, they also have $72m in deferred tax assets...not sure how to factor that in though.
