For you fans of the groups Chicago and Earth Wind and Fire...

These guys are great! I grew up on the north side of Chicago and saw the CTA at the Aaragon Ballroom on West Lawrence Ave. Also got to see Jefferson Airplane there. Amazing time and place in that up and coming bands were booked there, and tickets weren't needed to get in. You just showed up at the box office, paid your ~$7 and danced for the next 4-5 hours.

I've always loved the music of Chicago. Terry Kath's death was a huge loss for the band. He was quite the icon. I remember the day his death was announced....it was like a part of the city died.

One of the things these guys made me think of is that I often see some extraordinarily good buskers in European cities, and it seems like most of the time they are Russian or Ukrainian. Tremendous talent that deserves a better setting.
 
One of my favorite bands of the jazz-rock genre was a New Jersey Group called Ten Wheel Drive. their singer belted it out Janis Joplin style in front of a *tight* horn section. Here's a sample:
