Illegal winery busted at Alabama town’s sewage plant

In the hobby relm (which is exactly what this was), wine is mix and ferment. At it's simplest, beer is boil, chill, and ferment. So beer is "harder". Beer, if you keg your product, is a bit easier than bottling wine, but that requires more vessels.

Think beer is ready faster no? I made beer once - that was fun. I never tried to make wine. We have neighbors that make quite a lot of it. They don’t even have room to store all their cases!

Yes, beer can be ready and tasty much more quickly. I typically age wine in bulk for ~1 year before bottling; however, it is not much work to let it sit there for a year! :D

Back in prohibition days the best bootlegger in our area was the school janitor. He used the boiler in the new school built around 1925. Beat building a fire in the woods.
