Medicare Newbie Seeks Tips on Medical Billing Coding

Mutual of Omaha, Aetna and Cigna are notorious for this. It's mentioned over and over in this and other forums, but people either don't see the threads or ignore them. One person had this fear that other companies could do the same thing, and picked one of these companies because of that fear - yet these companies have the track record or doing it. Makes no sense.
What makes no sense? That certain companies do this in their normal operations? Or that people aren't aware that they do or don't pay attention?

Isn't this kind of thing part of the annual dance?

There is no Annual Medicare Open Enrollment for Medigap, unless you live in one of the handful of states that allows it. You need to know if you live in one of those states and do the due diligence to avoid making a costly decision.
 
It is the nature of internet forums that people confidently post about things that they don't understand. I would recommend Medicare for Dummies by Patricia Barry. It's a good book and clarifies a lot of these issues
