I've been searching and so far I've been unsuccessful. I want to know if the overall return of a Mutual Fund is Net or Gross factoring in the Expense Ratio. I'm evaluating the returns between Actively Managed Funds and Index Funds. Probably common knowledge but not in my case. Can y'all help me out?

Mutual fund returns are listed as net of expenses. The expenses are included in the calculation.

An index fund with an expense ratio of 0.2% and an annual return of 9.8%

and

A managed fund with an expense ratio of 0.75% and an annual return of 9.8%

both returned 9.8% after expenses were figured in.

Thanks. That's all I needed. Appreciate your time.
