Apparently this demonstration favorably influenced the French traffic bureaucrats who are now acknowledging the positive effects of motorcycles on reducing congestion. Congratulations to the French Federation of Angry Bikers!

Not all of them. In Maryland at least, motorcycles are allowed to use the HOV lanes with one rider. Probably because the worst mpg a motorcycle gets is in the high thirties, and that's for a real hawg.

When I used to ride a motorcycle I never weaved in and out of traffic or passed between stopped cars. I was always afraid of running into a car door as some guy spat a loogie. Maybe things are different in congested cities.

My new job actually pays people to ride motorcycles, car pool, or take public transportation to work rather than drive cars.
