Try to make a long story short... Wife is co-successor trustee with nephew on a family trust as her 98 yr old mom just passed away. Only trust asset is family home. She has a realtor and sale should be fairly quick and straight forward. We have been looking for an estate attorney to help with any administrative details that we are unaware of, but the search is not going well. It all seems relatively simple to me. The beneficiaries are close family and have a copy of the trust which is very simple and cut and dried. Of course, having seen Knives Out and been through a couple of estate settlements myself, who knows? But has anyone else settled a simple trust without a lawyer's involvement? Still in the early stages of figuring all this out.
