well said.

had i worked another 7 years i could have taken early pension and i would have had 10 years of supplemental health benefits. on the other hand, that might have just put me 7 years closer to alzheimer's by the time i retired.

instead i opted for quitting sooner to give myself at least 20 good years without work, and just in case i live longer than that, i'm single and flexible and have no problem living more cheaply.
