Welcome Aeowyn. Not an engineer, not female, never wanted to be a engineer. Electromechanical tech most of my life.
I just used to torment engineers. Especially during prototyping.
Now retired, just tinkering.
Cheers, god luck with the farm, don't think you should count on making money with it. As a kid spent much time on grandparents farm.

Welcome to the forum.
I would suggest a cash rent or some sort of share crop agreement for the first several years. I would also suggest that you not use a farm management agency. Many variables involved with your possible land use. You may have better choices than hay.
