Mr. 402.... I retired 6 years ago from a fire job as a Batt. Chief. After retirement I applied for and was hired to work on a Incident Management Team in Calif, as a Documentation Unit Leader, (fire camp Job).

Anyway, if you have any large fire qualifications in Plans, Operations, Logs, or finance there are good part time jobs out there, at a great wage... $300 to $900+ per day, 30+ days per year. If you're interested in that kind of work, PM me, I can give more detailed information. Or, google "Applying for Federal Incident Management Teams."

Take the money and run! There's lots of work, and other things you can do with your life... "Trust me...I use'ta work for the Government!"

Thanks for the help, stay safe, enjoy your ride.
How about a consulting business helping municipalities decide which fire equipment to buy? There are lots of town councils that have no idea how to make the purchase decision and you could be the hired expert they can blame turn to for independent advice.
