Welcome Baby Ape.

If you've run FIRECALC and looked at some of the other topics here you probably have some idea if early retirement is in the cards.

It may be TTJASI time again.

Re: Greetings From Baby Ape

Disclaimer... This is a CHP (cocktail hour post). Read at your own risk.

There are plenty of examples of balanced portfolios and other allocation strategies under the "investment strategies" topic.

Have you thought about your risk tolerence first? We all invest. The difference is how much and in what.

I think of the game of golf. All the clubs are similar. All the investments are similar, stocks, bonds, cash instruments, real estate, precious metals... But how one partitions those is like the putter. This is where individual style pervades. ... Hell golf clubs dont even come with putters. You have to select your own. There are a zillion types all as individual as the golfer. Same with allocation strategies 50/50, 70/30, up to you and your comfort level.

I like corp. bonds. The rates are on the way up but I don't think rates will do much until after the election.

Till then I'm puttering around.
