An epilogue: my wife loves softball (the reason she is playing in my company's league and not me) and tonight she got her groove back, went 5 for 5 and made a critical out on a throw to home. Got the game ball. Everyone wants her to sub for their team when she's not playing for hers. And she makes more money than me. How am I not the luckiest guy?

Yes, if everyone is armed with loving-kindness and compassion.

That would be nice, but also a "hold out" piece in case loving
kindness and compassion don't work.

Re: Hello!
Here's my woman softball story.* In grad school I played in a weekly informal coed play-and-get-beer game.* *
At one point I was dating a girl who had a full volleyball scholarship and was training for the olympics, and I asked her along.* We put her on third base, and soon someone hits a hard line drive down the third base line.* *She snags it and whips it over to first for the double play, almost too fast for the eye to follow -- major league type stuff.*
Everyone's jaws dropped.* Pretty funny.

Re: Hello!
Did you score a "home run" that night AL?
"Paradise by the Dashboard Light" [Meatloaf] comes to mind!

Yeah, Meatloaf.....like his style. Thought his album cover for
'Bat Out of Hell' was excellent (back in my biker days), although
Emerson. Lake and Palmer's 'Brain Salad Surgery' was pretty cool
(those of you under about 45 can ignore this stuff)

Re: Hello!
I'm under 45, but can I ignore the 'stuff' anyhow?

With poignant imagery like that, I'd be very hesitant...

Re: Hello!
Don't ever feel guilty over ER ... I am also in the computer industry ( a DBA by trade) .... I cannot stand it anymore .. The hyprocrisy of the computing industry is phenomenal .. Software is poorly written this days and unsecure .. Government regulations (hipaa) add hardware and software costs to an overburdened industry ..
ENJOY !! You deserve. I am 48 and I am reading this forum to help me figure a way out

Well, since my wife reads this forum occasionally, I'll say that I don't know what you're talking about.
