I'm Kyle from San Diego. I've only been in this area for about 2 months now after residing in the Long Beach/Redondo Beach area of Los Angeles for the past 10.
I'm 28 and made the move for family reasons: wife and I have our first kid on the way and wanted to move closer to family. I was lucky to secure a new job after 6 months of searching in the same industry (healthcare IT) that I've been in for the past 5 years.
I joined this forum because I have some questions as to what I should do with my existing 401K from my previous employer along with what to do with my new 457 and 401a accounts that I have through my new employer.

@Travelover: I just posted my main questions in the "Fire and Money" forum
@RetiredGypsy: I love my new commute! After being stuck on the 405 north for the last 5 years, I now get to enjoy driving north on the 15 against traffic! It's awesome! It's pretty much the same distance mile-wise and about half the time.
