Just saw the Titanic movie last night. I am so sure it's such a good idea to live in the sea - just kidding.

Re: Hello, my name is Greg and I'm a sailor
Avoid travelling in iceberg-infested waters, and if travelling in strange places, travel with a buddy boat or two.
Only problems I have heard of have been in places I didn't go, like east coast of northern Africa, and some places near northern coast of South America -- and I never heard of problems when there were multiple boats together - only solo boats.

I may have posted this before. I knew of a couple who had traveled to The
Bahamas from Fla. The weather forecast looked bad. Most everyone else
stayed in port. They decided to come back solo. Never found them or the
boat.

No disrespect intended. I know first hand from weather on TX lakes that things can get hairy fast. I don't believe I'd launch into bad weather.

Re: Hello, my name is Greg and I'm a sailor
Nope, as I noted in the forum admin, the 'edit' button has disappeared from my posts. All thats there is 'quote'. I could quote myself and edit that I suppose, but... :P

I quote myself all the time. Seldom need to edit as it's mostly perfectly put
the first time.

Oh, I recognize it all right, also pompous BS
Anyway, it has no effect on me which may seem like nonrecognition to some.
I'll tell you this though. It's a hell of an advantage in a great many venues.
So, "respect" or disrespect" needn't cause any angst. Feel free to take your best shot.

I don't mind quoting myself, especially since I'm going up against the creme de la creme.
BTW, I meant no disrespect for the deceased; live persons, however, are fair game...

Agree. All still gasping oxygen are fair targets. Re. the people who disappeared at sea, I didn't know them personally (friends of a friend).
Seems a bit unseemly to poke fun though. OTOH, very little is off limits
with me. Let your conscience be your guide.

Re: Hello, my name is Greg and I'm a sailor
I believe they did find the boat. Unleased land shark appears to have hit it by the bite radius.
Unseemliness? Conscience? I suppose its in the eye of the a-hole beholder.
