Hi from Oregon!

Hello everyone. I have been reading this site for a few days and decided to join. My husband and I are in our mid 40s and have recently started to get serious about retiring sometime before we turn 60. I look foward to feedback from this group as we develop our game plan.

Welcome aboard. You're starting plenty early to reach your goals and I hope you find this site as valuable a resource as I have over the years...

Welcome. We have relatives in Oregon and travel through Portland at least three times a year. Love the city - love the state.

Which was the last McMinnamin's you were in?

Welcome to the forum . Come back and name drop lots of place names to feed a nostalgic ex-pat . When I first moved to virginia I thought I was going to have to have air shipped to me.

Welcome! Our DD graduates from Lewis & Clark on Sunday - we're headed that way tomorrow. We love everything about Portland except the clouds/drizzle (which looks like the forecast for Sunday - guess commencement will be in the gym).
In any case, we are all here to help each other, so happy to have you on board.

Hey, drizzle is otherwise known as "Californian repellent".

In all honestly we all complain about the number of cloudy days and rain but after considering what others have had to deal with those showers are God's blessing.

My parents (when kicking our a$$e$ outside) called it "liquid sunshine".

Welcome DoraM

And thanks to our friends in the Northwest for taking our Northern California drizzle for 6 months/year so that we can have uninterrupted sunshine. (Or maybe I should thank the Jet Stream.)
