Hey Guys,
Insert typical lurker that decides to come out of the murky depths of the forums here. Canuck by nationality young by age (see 20-22 bracket). Still in school, work part time, run a website and continuously work towards FIRE! Still a long way aways unfortunately. Transition phase in life (aka hungry/nomad stage), hard to keep a lot of money (at least what I consider a lot) in the market due to liquidity constraints. I'm still learning about yee ole great techniques ala Bernstein, Buffet, Graham, Malkiel. Indexing looks mighty good until I'm not as ignorant. Might even look good after that :D. Anyway you know the look forward to knowing you spiel.

Read you soon

You didn't ask, but here is a good place to start:

1. Get a good degree.
2. Get a good job.
3. Live below your means.
4. Save like crazy.
5. Invest wisely.
6. Marry rich.

I did 3 out of 6. It takes longer that way. :p

Welcome aboard, kid! Read the archives. The oldest stuff is the best.

Cheers!

J, welcome aboard! I suspect that if I'd even starting thinking about retirement planning at your age, I'd have been able to retire years ago. Keep your eyes on the prize and I bet you'll be able to join the many quite early retirees on the board.
