Retired!!!!

I retired from my govt. job on Feb. 27th, at 50 with 28 years in. The last few months I was miserable, being a ghost around the office as everyone else knew I was inconsequential. Oh well. a couple of days before I left, I was approached to work a para professional job in my field at our local career center for just 30 hours a week as they needed someone to finish out the school year. Compared to the 50-70ish hours i was working, it seems i just get there and the day is over. Pay is also inconsequential. Im having a ball, and think that this "transition" job for 3-4 months might have just been what i needed to reset. Great to be doing a job because I WANT to, not that i NEED to!!!

Congratulations, and welcome. Looks like you're on an ideal transition between hectic full time work and something not so hectic, but not quite retirement.

Great news! Something about luck being the intersection of design and desire. Seems to fit.
