....Welcome to the forum. I thought I was going to ER this year at age 54. I am ready financially. I was working a little more than 20 hours a week and cut back to only 12 hours a week and this feels real good for me. Your history of popping in and out of your job looks like just a variation on my part-partime lifestyle. The threat of inflation and possible health care expenses would have me nervous if I was in your shoes. If I was you I would take another extended vacation like you did in 2005 and see how things look six months or a year from now. Try looking at your frugal lifestyle as something you would have to do for the rest of your life and see how that fits. Consider all the options mentioned here for possible healthcare in your future and look for others. There is probably something that will work for you.
