Retiring this month

I've gotten so much from this forum reading about the experiences and recommendations around the retirement decision and life after. My red letter days are almost done:

1/2014 Made last college payments for my kids
3/2014 paid off house
1/2/2015 gave 3 month notice
3/5/2015 told my group and the notice went out
3/13/15 came back from last (I think) business trip
3/28/15 hit 35 years service with the same megacorp
3/29/15 hit 58 years old (and secure max pension benefit)
3/31/15 Last day of work

I am leaving the best job I've ever had, but it's time to move on. Can't hardly believe it!

Well done. I'm on a similar track, but a few years behind you. Mortgage will be paid off in 3 years, kids are out of college in 5 years, and I qualify for a modest pension in 4 years. Enjoy your early retirement!
