You're selling books via an Amazon partner link. By itself not condemnable, but the gratuitous linking is suspect.
I posted more on this here.

Windedhare-
You may want to have a look at the book "Downshifting" which deals with negotiating with employers for more flexibility. *The author is one of the founders of Drake Beam Morin (a big HR recruiting/consulting firm).

You might also find Po Bronson's book "What should I do with my life?" interesting. It's about people looking for a way out of unfulfilling jobs and it is thought provoking.

I posted earlier that I was meeting with my boss about quitting my job. I felt that the magagement (his kids) was abusing thier position and I had enough. I felt that the best case senario would be to work 2 days a week in the offsite office, away from the managers, and continue to serve my customers.
After a very frank discussion about his kids, any many appologies about the situation, he suggested that I at least stay on at the offsite for the 2 days aweek. So we just need to finalize some salary negotiations
and it looks like it's a go. At least for now.
So I have put my retirement on hold for a while but I am hoping the 2 days a week works out.

Congratulations on working out the 2 day a week deal. I admire your ability to have a frank discussion with your boss about his kids. Few would be able to have the discussion and I suspect fewer would have a job after the discussion was over.

Re: Three Day Workweek
Yeah, ditto what Martha posted. I could have had the "discussion" all right. Coming out of it still employed? That would have been questionable....
