Updates from the first post here

http://www.early-retirement.org/foru...ing-64516.html

Updates: I tried to reply to original post pasted above but it did not allow me.

This was my first email to this forum exactly four years ago today. At the time, I had no idea, my portfolio was a mess, had made all the mistakes/more about investment and already had cumulative loss of 1M. My investment were so toxic that I had almost bought all BIG losers at peak in year 2000 -- CMGI, INSP, SUNW, CSCO, SHVA to name just a few! All I had was a hope that someday I'll be able to overcome my mistakes and hopefully retire. I learned a lot by reading and asking lots of questions here and retired on 12/1/2016. I already have this year's expense(90K) saved in cash and 82K parked to buy that dream car(BMW 7) in May. I've about 2M in taxable and 1M in retirement account and hoping to live on 3%(90K). My wife consults about 30 hrs/month which will bring 30K/yr...so total of 120K/yr. Life is good!

Yes. Since I resigned on 8/1 and then MegaCorp gave me a package on 9/1 with three months notice and one month severance, I already celebrated with two two weeks trip to Asia and India before my last day 11/30. No emails/phone calls to answer and pushing recruiter back(had one call today) feels just awesome!
