Hope it works out and good for you for helping your sister with this.

Thanks for the compliment.

For me, I'm pretty much just a dog, cat, fish and plants person.

My sister is really good with animals. Along with dogs and cats and rabbits, she had ferrets and I think maybe even a snake.

I remember one time, she took in a cute puppy that unfortunately had bad organs at birth which had less than a year to live. Yet, still she took the puppy in to give him a wonderful life for what time he had.

Perhaps Sarah had your sister in mind when she wrote this song:

If your rabbit lives outside make sure it's house is raccoon-proof.

I can't get myself to watch the PSA when it airs on TV as it's too heartbreaking to watch.

I remember going to an animal control shelter and seeing all the dogs and cats in cages is sad.

Got an email from my sister today. She's feeling bad as got news that her 16 year old cat has cancer. My sister has told me before, the tough part about animals is losing them breaks your heart. Yet, she's still a champion in her own way.

Wonky is built!

Pretty much finished building the Wonky Playhouse for my sister. It turned out quite nice. We did it in two separate weekends. It was a lot of well spent effort (in 90 plus degree heat) and the best part is sharing the time helping my sister out. It'll be a treasured memory for both of us (we spent a good time either sweating it out building away, our just joking around having fun like siblings do).

Attached are some pictures of the Wonky house that she snapped of the various stages. She still will paint it, but the actual build is done!

Yes. My sister loves her new Wonky Playhouse for her wabbit.

The both of us (and some help from her husband as he's the tallest of us and we needed him to reach the top shingles) did it! I did the sawing of the pieces, but we both did the head scratching trying to figure out the pretty sketchy plans, and both my sister and I put the Wonky house together.

Best of all, no accidents, except for an embarassing incident the first weekend of me being "attacked by a sawhorse" . But no harm done.

How does the wabbit get in? I don't see no door knob!

Maybe make the inside 2 stories and rent the top out to a possum.

Already looks nice!
Please post pictures after painting.
My kids requested we build a tree house this summer and I'm considering adapting wonky house plans.

That photo was taken just before we added a locking gate latch and a handle for the door. I think her plans are to manually let (cater to ) the wabbit letting it in and out instead of allowing the wabbit to go in out out as it pleases.

The two stories to a possum...funny

When she gets it all done and painted, I'll post.

My sister and I were talking while finishing the build how fun it would have been had we had a wonky playhouse as kids. I said "I bet I know where the favorite hide and seek place would be."

The plans for this house isn't very detailed so we had to improvise. For one thing, there isn't a cut list which made the project much longer. Instead, a lot of the sizes where bring a piece of lumber, hold it up, mark it, then cut it.

But I guess, who reads directions anyway? ..kidding.

Yes. Thankful for that. I try to be very safe when sawing stuff. Use clamps to hold down the workpiece and put on protection (ear protection, safety glasses, dust mask).

I'll confess about the embarassing "attack of the sawhorse". I bought these really strong saw horse legs which holds up to 1000 lbs.

Amazon.com: Target Precision RB-H1028 Rugged Buddy 28-Inch Folding Sawhorse Legs for One Complete Sawhorse: Home Improvement

The latching mechanism locks so tightly that in order to unlatch it to fold up, I had to try and use one leg pushing down on the latch and my arms holding a pair of sawhorse legs. Well, we were working on rock and I had these old gym shoes. So, when manuvering, I lost my balance and landing on my kiester . We had a good laugh.

Those sawhorse legs did come in really handy though, as while we were trying to do the top shingles, my sister was up a painter's ladder that get me nervous, so in little time, I built a temporary scaffolding with a solid platform for use out of 2 x 4's screwed into wood of the sawhorse.

Nice job, very whimsical and I'm sure you got a lot of pleasure in building it. Now we need a pic with the rabbits in it

My sister is supposed to get the bunny sometime today. I'm not sure if she is planning on putting it in the wabbit playhouse immediately or wait until she paints the house. The playhouse passed it's first test. My sister said by her they had a bad storm the other day. But the wabbit house stayed nice and dry. So it looks like we put up the shingles corrrectly!
