In short, he died on the 22nd. Your wife heard about it on the 23rd.

Here's a good test. In history books taught to children in the time zone that your wife was in, do they note that JFK was killed on the 22nd or 23rd? (presuming this is in their history lessons or educational material at all)

But yes, she is still right. In fact she's about 5% righter than you are. Maybe 10.

Did 9-11 happen on 9-12 in some parts of the world? Not.

Despite what natives of that state believe, Texas is not the center of the universe.

First,... you are wrong on your statement... we ARE the center of the universe...

And if he was killed in NY, then it would be the time it happened then... just like if he was killed in London, it would be the time there... as I said, it is 'local' to where he died.

Technically yes it did. As I recall, 9-11 happened at about 10 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (GMT -4). Well in area of the world called Kiritimati, Christmas Islands, Kiribati (GMT +14) ,the time would have been about 3 a.m. on 9-12 (see Current local time in Kiritimati - Christmas Islands - Kiribati.

Personally, I remember hearing about 9-11 at approximately 7:10 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time. That is the hour which is etched in my mind. So even though the event may be time and date stamped at 10.am. in New York City, for people living elsewhere, the frame of reference for 9-11 or any other major event will always be their respective local time zones.
