I've never liked having to wait through the FBI warnings, legal notifications, MPAA Rating screen, and sometimes previews before watching a DVD. It sometimes takes several minutes to get to the actual film.
So I bought a Panasonic S52 DVD player on eBay, and, when it arrived today, I installed some hacked firmware (from here).
It was a bit risky, but it worked great. When I put in a DVD and it displays a notice, film rating, or anything else, I can always fast forward or press the menu button.
