ISPs are being notified that the federal government may soon pass legislation requiring them to keep logs of email, web and other information on their user base, perhaps for as long as several months.
Currently, few ISP's keep more than a few days worth of information before discarding it, and what is gathered/evaluated is usually performance and troubleshooting related.
This marks a major reversal of previous policy statements.

Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful. Just another form of "buy low, sell high" for those who have trouble with things. This rule is not universal. Do not buy a 1973 Pinto because everyone else is afraid of it.
