anything fun to do in Cincinnati OH?

My fiance and I are takign a weekend and goign down that way from the Cleveland area. We're going to King's Islnad (amusement park), maybe one of the riverboat casino's....and that's it right now.

We'd like to find the happenign night life, as we are still young and like the bar scene a bit. Or anythign else of interest...

Many years ago, there used to be a large number of beer gardens in the area. I bet someone has resurrected at least one, if that is your idea of a good time.

But I have to say, I have lived in or travelled through much of Ohio, and I cannot fathom going to Cincinnati to get away. Why not pick somewhere nicer, like Newark, NJ?

I know, its not ideal by any stretch. But we both like the amusement parks, and for 200 bucks we get 2 nights hotel and 2 days at the park...neither of us has been there in 10+ years...we're spoiled to be near Cedar Point and Six Flags. I heard somethign about Main St. being the spot...but I dont know....

Cute n Fuzzy: a brothel...probably not....a strip club...maybe! Depends on how drunk she gets....

Don't mind me. I just had too many business trips to/through Cincinnati that were either painful because of who I was going to see (what is it with @ssholes running Ohio insurance companies?), or because I got stuck in the *^&^*%$*&$%! airport for hours to days because of weather.

BTW, you might already know this, but if you own shares of FUN (even one share) they send you all kinds of discount coupons and stuff for Cedar Point just for being a shareholder...

Okay, it's not wild and crazy, but the Newport Aquarium is near Cinci--plenty 'o fish, a penguin exhibit (you'll see 'em swim underwater) and they've added a river otter exhibit. Like I said, not too wild, but a relaxing time if you need a break.

Then you could visit my Mom's cuz at Twin Towers, she is about 95 and used to be a Sally Rand dancer    (the gal on the program cover) and danced in several Hollywood musicals in the 1930s.  I visited her about two years ago - she still has a great figure and can tell old stories with a twinke in her eye, but she is comming up short on events after about 1990.

About ten years ago I went to a barbecue restaurant there, one of a small chain around town, on the river and shaped like a riverboat.

They had a novel way to make ribs that I have never seen anywhere else. Starting with very fat pork ribs, they barbecued them in a central location, froze them, scraped the fat off them and shipped them to their restaurants around town, where they were warmed up and served with sauce.

Sorry, I cannot come up with the name. I found it by asking around.

The rib chain is called Montgomery Inn.  The location that Ed_The_Gypsy was describing is on the riverfront, east of the Reds' stadium.

Over 25 years ago, I went down to Mexico with a dear friend. We went to a restaurant for dinner. Cause I was very hungry, I devoured a jar of jalapenos on an empty stomach, while I was waiting for the food to arrive. My stomach was doing cartwheels for the next couple of hours. I drank about 2 litres of Coke to try to settle my stomach and flush those little suckers down.
