Agree but it will be hard rooting for the Nats.

On the bright side, I can only imagine what Bryce Harper is thinking right now. Although with his boatload of money he probably doesn't care.

Aww, is there not one other Yankee fan here?
Our 12 yr old son pulled us in back in 1998 and we haven't disengaged from the Yankees since. Through a bunch of good and some not very good thrown in.
Ahhhh, Judge just hit it out in the fourth for 2 runs.

Caught some of the Nationals. Had no idea how good they are.

A sweep would be nice.
Too bad Houston just tied this one up.

Faith is a good thing to have. I hope the Yankees have it facing Cole tomorrow.

My thoughts are: the MN Twins are actually the AAA affiliate of the NY Yankees. They break my heart every year. Since the Astro's have had to play real MLB temas and the Yankees swept the AAA Twins I give the advantage to the Astro's. That plus the pitching advantage.

From my POV, the Astros struggled in both playoff games against the Yankees so far, even with Verlander starting last night. Although I'll admit, they looked better in game two. (and of course they won in extra innings).

And that was "at home"! I sure hope they can get their "stuff" together while in NY.

If Astros win on Tuesday with Cole it changes everything. They will head back to Houston and hopefully advance to the WS. Verlander hasn't had his best game yet......Go Astros!

What do you mean "we" kemosabe.....

Actually, I'm a lifelong Astros fan. It's about the only thing I'll still admit to any linkage to Houston. Matter of fact I was a fan when they first become a major league team back in ~62... Back then they were called the Colt 45's. Probably not politically acceptable today but I still think of them by that name. Before that they were a minor league team call the Houston Buffalo's (or just the Buffs). I can actually remember attending a Buffs game back about 1960 as young boy.

Apart from the 10 run first inning the Cardinals hung on the Braves, the playoffs have been unusually low scoring so far. I know we've seen some good pitching lately and maybe the ball doesn't fly as much in cooler autumn air, but still...

They went back to non-juiced balls for the playoffs.

I wonder if either manager knows how to manufacture runs? Or are they so accustomed to waiting for HRs they don't bother?

Still here, hanging my head. 2 runs in 3 games is not the way to win a series.
