Better wine than Yellow tail - Jaob's Creek

Try Jacob's Creek wine instead of Yellow Tail. The same price where I live. The wine taste a bit more mature
than Yellow Tail to me.

Anybody besides me try Tindindi yet? * I think Costco may be their sole US distributor, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I think I'm addicted. *(Hick!)

I'm sticking with Cut-Throat on this one.

Maybe we are just getting a bad batch of Yellow Tail here in Georgia. The Yellow Tail I had (bougth a case of assorted wine) had a slight chemical taste and gave me a headache the next morning after only 2 glasses.

Was the chemical alcohol? How big were the glasses?

I looked up this wine. I have not seen it yet, but will seek it out. Does it only come in a 3 liter Box?

Do you prefer this over Yellowtail Reds?
Costco carried 3-liter boxes of both their Cab and Chard. I only tried the Cab, and liked it fine.

I just started experimenting with box wines, but this one is good enough that I now consider bottles obsolete (never liked them anyway). I haven't found the Yellowtail in a box yet, so haven't tried it. The only other box I've tried is Tefft Cellars (I think it was a Merlot blend), and I wasn't really impressed with that one.

But my palate isn't very sophisticated, so don't blame me if it tastes like grape juice to you

My palate is not all that sophisticated either, but I
kind of draw the line at boxes. I like the bottles.
In fact, I prefer the old standard size even if it costs a
bit more. Just a traditionalist I guess.

Re: Better wine than Yellow tail - Jaob's Creek

A local winery admitted to me that modern screw-on bottlecaps are better for the wine than corks, but until a big name French wine starts using them only the cheap cheap wines will dare.

I suspect box wines are the same way; the lack of oxygen in the bag should keep the wine really well. My only box wine experiences are Franzia and an even cheaper white zinfindel, though, and I quit liking them after moving close to a winery and sampling their offerings.

Opened a bottle of Reindeer Chardonnay (gift) recently and noticed the cork wasn't cork but some kind of foam. Odd.

I bought a lot of Yellow Tail for Christmas gifts but haven't had any myself yet.

JG, the bottles are fine as long as you drink the whole thing in a single sitting. * *I see a day coming soon when you and Mrs Galt sit down to a nice candle-lit dinner, and squirt some wine out of the box
