But if your deck looks like new when you are ready to leave, it would be a plus.

In that case I would go with black locust, since it is locally native. My opinion is that a lot of tropical hardwoods are illegally harvested, and it's hard to tell at the retail end whether that's the case. It's something that matters to me.
