Cut-Throat on the Road again.........
Damn it's cool to be on the road, with no deadline to return. I'm in Durango Colorado tonight (cool town). These are the Rockies today as I headed towards Durango. Nothing but big trout in front of me now 8)

I agree ... Durango is a great town! Did you stay at the Strater?

Yep, I agree also. Durango is real pretty.
Hey Cut-Throat, my daughter used to live in Farmington,
New Mexico (just south of you). Can you believe I visited many times and never fished? Heard that it can be excellent. Not sure now if I will ever get back there.

I'm headed to Santa Fe, NM this summer and will slide on up and visit my nephew in Colorado after that. Beautiful country.

Re: Cut-Throat on the Road again.........
Voyt,
Did not stay at the Strator, but visited it today. Very cool lobby, like a musuem. A bit Pricey and lacking modern conviences. I have High Speed Internet, Refridge in room, Microwave, Hot Breakfast, HBO at the Best Western all for $53 a night! - I may be the only trout fisherman here. Mostly Ski Bunnies and their Jack Rabbits 8)
John,
Farmington is a really desolete part of the country. The landscape changes from Upscale Durango as soon as you cross the New Mexico Border. Looks like most Clint Eastwood Spagetti Westerns were filmed there. 8)
Lots of trout in the San Juan River. - Mostly Rainbows from 16 inches to 22 inches.

Cut, my uncle used to fish the Conejos south of
Durango back some 60 years ago. He always
had some good stories.
Cheers,

Sounds painful. I'd recommend new hooks, hopefully barbless. *And probably new bait too...
