Agree: The sun has been been 'gradually increasing' daylight hours for us since Saturday, December 21 @ 10:19 PM
Leave it at that.

THANK YOU!! You must also work across time zones.
This whole "noon is when the sun is overhead" is not a proper system of measurement! It's just labels, which is why it drives me crazy that we re-label time twice a year when we could just shift our activities. (Although I'm not really in favor of that, either, as it throws off my circadian rhythm.)

People's answers will depend on where they are in the time zone. Those in the center of a zone seem happy to keep it. Those on the edges may have gripes either way. Western edge timezone people suffer through dark mornings in winter, even at moderate latitudes, if DST goes year round.

I despise the time change.
I've been grouchy , headachy , giving my family a hard time . almost snarled at our innocent little dog.
And I foolishly didn't look close enough at the calendar to realize the time shift when I made the appointment for tomorrow -- 8:30 am.

"dark mornings" Who cares? Let it be dark until lunch time. I don't care. But then again I am still working 32hrs/wk. I really hate getting off of work in the winter and the sun is already going down. Once I am retired I can wake up whenever I want. So if I want a great sunrise I will wake up at that time. Whatever the clock may show.
Currently I am at my desk about 0545-0600 each morning. Now with the time change I will start to see the sunrise on the way to work.

A lot of folks with kids going to school in the morning *do* care.

That's whom I was thinking of. But Bigdawg is cranky on this time change day and forgot about our children.

I am loving DST. It is 7:30 PM here now and still enough light to grill out on the porch.

Yes, today is the day when our grill got cleaned up after the winter and starts being used again (including today).

Thank you, I feel the same way. I couldn't care less how dark it is when I'm driving to work. I always hate coming home in the dark after work or having it get dark so quickly after I get home. I wish they had DST all year round. But for summer, it's really great. DST!!!

You mean you don't grill in the Winter? Shame on you
We grill year round. More in the warm weather, but many times in the freezing weather, as well.
Regarding DST, I like the later evenings in summer. Yeah, we are retired, so it doesn't really matter, but when I was working it just felt nicer when I got home, with still 2-3 hours of daylight.

And at the risk of crossing the streams, this time change always leaves me feeling tired for a week or two at least, and more susceptible to colds....or whatever other bugs are going around! I wonder if this could affect the spread of COVID-19, even a little?
EDIT: I'm going to bring this up on the CV health & preparedness thread, rather than start a discussion of it here.

WE discussed this around the dinner table recently and agreed that one of the Presidential candidates should make this a big deal (one of those "first thing I will do on 1/20/2021!")

I'm still working full time, and running my farm. I generally turn the light off about 10 PM, and wake before the alarm clock around 4:30 AM on weekdays. On weekends, I sleep until I wake up...sometimes 8, or 9 hours. DLST doesn't affect my sleep at all< and I honestly forgot to change the clocks until about noon on Sunday.
