Early Retirement Forum Cookbook is Ready!

Well, it's done! Here it is:

The Official Early Retirement Forum Cookbook

Let me know if there are any major problems that should be corrected. I left in most minor typos to keep the flavor of the forum.

I'm going to print mine out and have it spiral bound.

Thanks for all the great recipes.

Enjoy!

Re: Early Retirement Forum Cookbook is Ready!

Okay...so far the first breakfast frittata recipe had a spaghetti alla carbonara stuck on the front of it which is missing and the dialog trailed into the frittata recipe. This just starts with the frittata sort of in mid-stream of consciousness. But maybe you intended for me to sound like I just start talking mid sentence?

Page 32 wholly consists of a malformed thought about the quality of PF Changs...

I see, the pasta carbonara made it in as an entree later on...

The chicken tagine recipe had the preserved lemon recipe following and in the ingredients section says "see below", but the lemon recipe has been moved above the tagine recipe.

The dog in the dishwasher is hilarious. I first saw that salmon/dishwasher recipe on Jamie Olivers first episode of "the naked chef".

Harry Pothead

I was only beaten out by "onion" for most references in the index

Nice job, some of the general tips are great, I think I'm going to try my hand at the sink cutting board, we need the counterspace. And the hanging pots too!

Awesome Al.

I think we should all make photos of our dishes to be incorporated in the first revision. Then Al can port it over to one of those online sites that allow you to print out bound, high gloss, coffee table books.

T-Al that is awesome!

Thanks for adding the accent marks to the word "saute/sauteed" that I over-used in my recipe!

Maybe it should have been Hairy Pothead!

Love the cookbook but really like the little stories that accompany the recipes. Two thumbs up Al.

Nice job of hiding her name and going for the opposite sex, just to really fool The Man.

After all, Leonidas isnt officially retired yet. He might just be overtly gathering information about all of us.

That'd explain why his big undisclosed story involves nudity.

Re: Early Retirement Forum Cookbook is Ready!

Awesome job. Loved it. Especially liked the cat with his porridge, sort of reminds me of my own. If this is a work in progress, one additional request is to have a last page be something that would look good as the back cover, to match the front page - maybe an outhouse with wheels and a stove, or something. That would let us send the book to the print shop and have it be perfectly ready for binding.
Really liked the receipes though, and plan to incorporate some this weekend.

Re: Early Retirement Forum Cookbook is Ready!

Al, just in case some Swede gets injured using an E-R.org recipe, it might be wise to see if Martha can draft up a disclaimer to go in the cookbook...

Tooth chipped on cookie ruled work-related

"I'm very happy," Montell, 50, said Wednesday. "Everyone who is out on a job can have a snack knowing that they are covered by occupational safety laws."
