Future RE Tycoon Buys 2nd House

Future Donald Trump? This young lady seems to have whet it takes in the real estate world. Evidently this is not the first house that this now 15YO gal has purchased.

What a country!

This is Willow's new house.

Willow Tufano became a homeowner earlier this year. This was newsworthy because Willow was 14 years old. She raised money to buy the house by selling stuff on Craigslist.

I spoke to Willow again last week and got an update. She's 15 now, and her life over the past few months was sort of surreal. She got caught up in two dramas: America's housing market and America's media circus.

The housing market drama is in some ways more straightforward. The people renting her house recently left in the middle of the night and skipped out on the rent. She's trying to find new tenants.
And, more significantly, she just bought another house near her home in Port Charlotte, Fla. This one — two bedrooms, one bath — cost $17,500. (The first one, which she split with her mom, cost $12,000, down from a value of roughly $100,000 at the peak of the boom.)

I seem to recall that her Mom is involved in real estate - an agent IIRC. Still, impressive.

I recall that as well, though I remember thinking at the time that it seemed more like the parents were into media and promoting (ala Balloon Boy's father). I recalled this before I clicked the link, then wondered if I'm just a tad too cynical.

Then I went and read this "update.". Yup. Reality TV show for her? Puh-leeze.

Frankly I'm just not impressed with the girl, cause I think her parents staged the whole thing for self (and family) promotion and to make money. Not because she was actually entrepreneurial or anything. Who knows. Hard to tell these days. But the article in the OP just seems to confirm it. And wait til we hear about her next, in another 6 mo. to a year, when it's died out and they do the next set of shenanigans to get media coverage.

I have mixed feeling. One part it sounds like a promoter mom, and wanna be celebrity 15 year old girl. On the other hand making $500/month selling stuff on Craig's list is no easy feat unless you've had a lifetime to accumulate stuff which the girl hasn't had.

I loved one of the comments to the story.

Why can't this girl just play videos games, eventually do drugs, get pregnant and go on welfare? She's SO messed up!
So she's isn't normal 15 year old, and heck of a lot of business tycoons started at an early age. Maybe she will be one of them, but maybe she is just the daughter of shameless promoter.

I'm impressed with those under 30 who have already accumulated several properties, I'm waiting to see Arebelspy's Casino open up in the next decade.

I am just wondering how she is getting around being a minor signing contracts.... I would not sell to her... but, the houses she buys have to be pretty bad to cost so little...
