Good bye.

Hello Early Retirement Forum,

My name is Gretchen Lindell, and my mom was Moe. Unfortunately, mom passed away on May 1, 2021, after a short, but intense battle with pancreatic cancer.

Here is her obituary: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/na...?pid=198532687

As I've been frantically tying up the loose ends for her, I came across her profile on this network. Before I delete her information, I wanted to post a note to you to let you know why she has "disappeared." I will hold off for a bit on deleting her profile, in order for her friends here to get a chance to see this message.

Thank you for all the kinds words you've shared with her over the years. She spoke frequently of the Early Retirement Boards and I honestly had no idea how big this network was. LOL, mom had over 11,000 responses/messages on here, even though in person she was a woman of few words.

Many of you gave her advice, shared sweet stories, and were all around good friends to her. I cannot thank you enough for that.

May your lives be rich and well lived!

Sincerely,

Gretchen, Maureen's Daughter <3

oh, so sorry to hear this. I remember her well, and enjoyed her on this forum. Thank you very much for letting us know. People just seem to drift off, and often we realize we haven't heard from them in a long time. And usually never hear why, or if they are still alive. She was missed, and will be missed.

Your Mom and her special view of the world will be missed...Peace to her memory and May God be with you all.

So sorry Gretchen for your loss.
I had the pleasure to meet your mom at our ER SWFLA get together a few years ago around Sarasota.
She was a lively confident wonderful person and we will miss her.

Gretchen, thanks so much for letting us know
I did notice your mom hadn't posted lately. I was fond of her. That you took the time, in the midst of your own sorrow, to notify her forum friends says worlds about how she raised you. I wish you peace and comfort.

I know some of my real life family and friends look at me askance when I mention "internet friends" but there are a number of sites where people really do get to know and care about one another. Thank you for letting us know about your Mother, we will miss her. My condolences on your loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Thank you for letting us know, it is appreciated.

Would you consider leaving her profile up? She had a lot of fantastic insights and I am sure others would like to revisit some of her posts.

Gretchen, thank you so much for letting us know about your mom. We usually don't know what happens when someone stops posting and it is considerate of you to take the time to share with us. My sincere condolences for your loss.

I echo what ExFlyBoy said, please leave her profile up and perhaps note in it somewhere of her passing.
