Good calendar app?
What calendar app do you use (I have iPhone)?
I used to use Outlook calendar at work all the time and I had an app on my iPhone that was linked to it and gave me reminders on my iPhone for all calendar appointments. I need something similar. It would be good if that app came with some kind of task tracking too.
Thank you very much!

I don't think there is an ideal calendar app yet, despite the many attempts available.
The built-in Calendar app is not good enough for me, so I've been looking for quite a while.
I used Week Calendar for quite a while, as it served my purposes pretty well.
More recently, I've gone to Awesome Calendar, which I like better.
Most of them have free versions (with ads), so you can try them out, then buy the paid version if you like it.

I have one called MiCal; if I paid anything for it, it wasn't much. No ads and it works pretty much like the Outlook calendar and there are no ads.

I started adding events in Google calendar, but does the notification popup work for you? (I tested but nothing is popping up yet...)

When I enter events on my laptop I have the default notification set to pop-up and also email notification. For really important messages I have also SMS enabled and would add that notification on those events.
The pop-up on the laptop never worked, I assumed because I had a pop-up blocker installed, but since it was synch'ed with the calendar on the iPad then it would pop up on the iPad (and "bing").
Once I got an iPhone in January I never needed the SMS feature as the calendar on the iPhone is synch'ed with GMail/Google Calendar and it pops up on the iPhone. (actually I have it set to appear in the banner, and give a "bing").

Thank you very much. The popup is not working or I am just not doing something right on iPhone, but SMS definitely worked so I will use this for a while.

I have the Google calendar app downloaded on my iPhone which synchs with my Google calendar that I can access through the web on my iPad and laptop.
I can add events with notes, but I don't use task lists, not sure if Google calendar supports task lists, but it does support repeating events which I use.

I use Google calendar which syncs with my laptop amd android. I have no problems getting notifications for events on my laptop even with popups blocked. I also get notifications through Gmail, and some from SMS, can't say why??

I think I just need to test the pop up on my iphone some more. SMS definitely works so it's all good. Thank you all for all your feedback!

I'm not near as heavy or frequent a user of calendar and task lists as when I was working.
When I was working we had Lotus Notes and the email, calendar and notes data automatically synced with my Blackberry.
Now that I am retired, I use Outlook on my laptop and tether sync the calendar and task lists with my Android phone. I don;t really use tasks much on the laptop but I use Out of Milk for tasks, shopping lists, errand lists, etc on the phone. Very handy as I can add items verbally without typing.

I too use Google Calendar synched to the phone. I rely on email reminders, many times two so I get reminded a few days before an event and again the day of the event. I would forget to get up in the morning without an email reminder.

I use the iPhone calendar app with our Gmail account. On Android tablet I use the Google app. Alerts appear as expected on the iPhone.

Gmail calendar looks pretty good and I have also installed Out of Milk. I think I will use these for a while and see. Thank you very much for sharing what you use!
