My current herby cold weather favorite is Cardamon Cinnamon sort of stepped up constant comment. Definitely worth a try.

I drink both Keemun and Pu Erh. Both are Chinese black teas. Keemun has a redish color with a rich somewhat wine aftertaste and Pu Erk is a very earthy tea.

Cheers!

PG Tips, Typhoo (looks promising - they seem to have US outlets), Tetley, Yorkshire Tea.

not so much caffiene in the yerba mate...i think its some other derivative like xanthene or something - too lazy to look it up...but it sure does the trick!

Another vote for lapsang souchong here. Always smells slightly of motor oil to me, but the smell just sends me to heaven...go figure?

After reading this thread....I put the kettle on for my favorite tea! It's a Japanese green tea (sold loose in bulk) called Cherry Sakura. It's delicious hot or cold (leftover). Beautiful fragance and light fragrant taste. And, like other teas, good for you. Since I'm the only one at home who drinks it..I buy it in 1/4 lb amounts...and it lasts a long time as it doesn't take much to make a small pot. Great thread....have lots of good ideas for trying new 'teas'!

If you're enough of a purist to drink real (whole leaf, not tea bag) tea, the best source in the U.S. is this wonderful mail order company:

Caffeine + Freebird is a bad combination, so I tend toward the decaf type teas. I love fruit based teas. I purchase it in bulk for both iced tea and hot tea.
Go to www.englishteastore.com for a huge selection of all varieties.
Prices are pretty good for the loose tea in bulk bags.

Go to your Chinese/Japanese store and buy loose leaf green tea, infused in Jasmine, the can is Red, with black letters, in a cylyndrical shape, costs approximately $40 for the can. I don't know how many cups I can make from this but it has lasted me over 2 years already. The tea is amazing. Very few English words on the can, the rest are all in Chinese but here's what's written in English on the can: Chinese Tea ZhangYiYuan. Another really good tea is a very dark green cylyndrical jar, with #103 on it, and the words Series King's Tea on it, the rest are in Chinese. Hope this helps.

It always reminds me of the smell of gunpowder. I've no idea why.

They should get with the program, and rename it "Smoove Move". Hey, the hip-hop generation needs to be regular too...
