Sad to hear. I always liked him and admired his story of success from such poor and disadvantaged start in life.

If I'm not mistaken, he's the most well-known, "highest profile" U.S. citizen to have died from COVID thus far.

Or being out and about with some fairly serious underlying conditions.

RIP.
Admired his rise from a poor background. A little on the cocky side, but nevertheless a loss.

I was just reading the Wikipedia entry on Cain's life. His parents set an impressive "bootstraps" example for him, with his father sometimes working three jobs so he could own his own home.

I liked the guy. He had his faults but don't we all. A cautionary tale for those who don't protect themselves from infection.

I imagine having survived stage 4 colon cancer would be considered a premorbidity and therefore a factor?

He certainly was an inspiration to many. I listened to his radio show a number of times and could relate to his out-of-the-box thinking. He will be missed!

He had a talk radio show on Atlanta radio, and was very popular.

Herman was very blessed to have a great deal of common sense. So sorry to hear of this.

I dunno, maybe we have a different concept of "common sense," but my version of such would have advised strongly against a man of his age and apparent co-morbidities attending a mass indoor rally where mask wearing and social distancing were neither practiced nor encouraged. Very sad but all the more so since it was needless.

A cautionary tale to hoaxers/deniers. Given he downplayed virus and appeared to get this at the Oklahoma rally, will GOP go virtual instead of NC convention? (Am speaking about what's wise logistically, not politics).
