I recently talked my folks into living wills, medical POAs, property
POAs, the whole 9 yards. Got it all signed up, witnessed and notarized.
I did not discuss this with my only brother, just saw the chance and went ahead (I am going to send him copies of everything). Anyway, it will
be interesting to see his reaction to being left out of the process.
I would be upset (control freak). DW thinks he will be glad that I took
the initiative and left him home. I am not too sure that is a good thing ,
as it may indicate he is willing to leave all elder issues to me.
I don't mind really, but probably will need some help at some point
in the near future.

Congrats on GETTING IT DONE. Most people are too wimpy to actually MAKE IT HAPPEN, and they pay for their cowardice in all kinds of unexpected, lovely ways.

If you get them both covered with a fat 2-3 year (minimum) Long Term Care Insurance policy (I like Genworth or John Hancock), you get an A+. As it is, you get an A-... VERY strong work.

I'm sure your brother will be greatly relieved.
