Living with balance
It's nice to relax on a regular basis. Yet a life of nothing but relaxation would be unbearably miserable.

It is extremely fulfilling and energizing to put forth great effort and to make things happen. Yet if that's all you ever do, your spirit will surely become worn away.

Life is best when it is balanced. Night and day, warm and cool, wet and dry, effort and rest all benefit from each other and from the natural balance that permeates all of life.

Are you plagued by frustrations, or weariness, anxiety, doubt, confusion or lack of motivation? Then the chances are very good that something in your life is out of balance.

Often, the best way to get something done is to stop working on it for a while. And the best way to fully enjoy the time when you're not working is to practice discipline, diligence and commitment during the times when you are working.

Your life is blessed with many different aspects. Keep them all in balance, and they will all be of much greater value to you.

Yep

After sex - there is always pinocle - especially if it's a long winter.

The shear joy of whining, bitching and 'there outta be a law' should be denied no one.

There is no requirement to take it serious.

Remember this - after summer - comes football season.

I've found that alternating between different activities is very important, but I don't think of it as an issue of balance.

For example, driving 30 miles for one day of jury duty helped me appreciate the fact that I don't need to go someplace every day and deal with bureaucracies.

That's very funny -- LOL!

What's not funny is that with my job the way it is right now, I'd LOVE jury duty! A nice, long, contentious murder trial could be just the vacation I need from this place! ;-D

As to the other choice -- naw, work is still, just BARELY, better than THAT!

Jury Duty, now that would have been a nice parting gift to me and my county.

It would have been lovely if one week before they were about to give me my notice, I would have been called to jury duty and it lasted several weeks. It would have been a nice ending touch to my long career by them, paying me to do my civic duty. I was called several times during my long stay with the company but never served. I wonder if they would have had to wait a bit longer to hit me with my early permanent unemployment to avoid any legal issues.

Just a little daydreaming about the possible alternate past.
