DW and I bought a couple cemetery plots today. Nice spot in the family church cemetery that I mow and trim as a volunteer. Set us back $100.

We're next to a bunch of good folks that I knew on this side of the dirt.

I feel better knowing that the kids don't have to figure this out. I spent thousands of $$ and lots of time figuring out how to handle the estate, but now I know what they can do with us without trying to guess.

It's a nice spot with good neighbors on a quiet road and view to a nearby river. Prime real estate. Cash deal. Low taxes (none) cheap utilities and no maintenance. Best land deal I ever made. No buyers remorse at all.

I get to mow it til I move there.

Just by coincidence, our family plot has DW's uncle to our immediate left and some neighbors to the immediate right.... and DW's parents are just around the corner.

I haven't bothered to point out to her that she will be spending eternity just a few feet from her DMIL (they have their days).

That is really CHEAP... much cheaper than I ever would think.

What is the view like, and do you have water access...
