Microwave died, can't get a good deal on the one DW wants.....:(

Our 14 year old Panasonic microwave died. I use a microwave all the time so it was abused plenty. Time for a new one. We want to stick to Panasonic because of the good luck we have had. We have a space issue, as the shelf it rests on is only 18 inches deep and 23 inches wide, so a 1.2 cubic foot is perfect.

DW would like balck or stainless silver color. I have been trying to find this model but the online sellers are all playing tricks, like offering it for $99 and charging $70 for SHIPPING and junk like that. I am trying to spend $130 but having no luck........

Here's the model number: NN-SD697S (Panasonic)

It is sold out on a bunch of sites. This model is rated highly by Consumer Reports but that rating has been out for over a year so why can't I find one at a good price?

Neither Sears nor Target nor WalMart has it, in stock or otherwise. It is sold out at the only COSTCO in my area. Sam's Club doesn't stock it...........

Sometimes we have to choose between either a bargain, or getting precisely the model that we want.

This has to be some sort of shopping axiom.

Good luck!
