Mitch Miller - R.I.P.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/03/ar...ref=obituaries

Mitch Miller, an influential record producer who became a hugely popular recording artist and an unlikely television star a half century ago by leading a choral group in familiar old songs and inviting people to sing along, died on Saturday in Manhattan. He was 99.

Sad to hear that. My father had many of his albums.

Sure does bring back memories of the early-mid 60's.

Bu coincidence, one of the books I just finished reading during these early days of my ER was The Label: The Story of Columbia Records--in which Miller was a primary subject.

I hate to admit it but I can remember my parents watching his show. Well, me too, as we only had 1 B&W TV.
