I couldn't possibly choose one, my tastes and preferences change over time anyway - though I am still convinced The Beatles are easily the greatest musical phenomena in my lifetime. Probably doesn't add to the thread but FWIW:

We (mostly me but some DW) have 2679 songs in iTunes, 443 different artists, I'd say my current favorites include The Beatles, Billy Joel, Sting, Radiohead, James Taylor, The Who, Jimmy Buffett, Nirvana and Led Zeppelin.

Of that it's Rock/Pop/Alternative 81%, Soundtracks (DW) 7%, Classical 3%, Holiday (DW) 3%, Jazz 2%, Other 5%. Lately I've been listening to classical mostly, ebbs and flows.

Your original, original post did have categories (but no examples). However, at 8:54am this morning, you revised your post to just ask "Your all time favorites from any era" (which is how it still reads now). Of all the responses, only MichaelB's occurred prior to your edit. Given the edit, it should come as no surprise that everyone thereafter responded as they did.

I grew up in Music City, USA. My family was around all the great country stars of the 1960's, including Patsy Cline.
Brenda Lee was always one of my favorites, as she lived in our community. Sat next to her in church one Easter.
But growing up as a young jazz musician, I tend to go more toward middle of the road jazz. I absolutely love Al Jarreau, Manhattan Transfer, Candy Dulfer, George Albright, Chris Botti, Lola Astanova and Caroline Campbell. I also listen to George Duke, David Sanborn and too many to list.

No all time favorites but a recommendation to keep up. I listen to Radio Paradise, an Internet radio station that plays an eclectic list from the 50/60s through current day,
vetted by listeners. I like it because I catch lots of my old favorites but also new music I would never encounter on my own.

No favorites. Especially with streaming music and the logic that feeds you music on Pandora, I listen to a lot of different artists, many I don’t even know. I’d say broadly I listen to a rock/pop mix leaning to the easier listening side. Artists like Jack Johnson, David Gray, Sarah McLachlan and Adele come up frequently. Much different from my younger years which included, Ted Nugent, Rush, Led Zeppelin.

Couple of my favorite concerts were David Byrne and when Sting and Paul Simon toured together.

One band that many seemed to like that I could never stand is/was the Doors. Just never got it.

This morning currently listening to a Steve Winwood album - Greatest Hits Live. Nice 👍 on Amazon Music.

Classic rock is what I mostly listen to. 60's to 80's mostly. Like some of the newer rock, but absolutely can't stand rap or new top 40 type music. Sometimes listen to old country, prefer that over new country when I am in that mood.
