1. How old is your PC?
2. Has your PC ever been reformated?

Now if you're thinking of going the route of a new Dell, (very good brand) then you don't need to answer.

Don't mind answering (keeps my post count up)

1. 5 years

2. Not sure but I think so.

BTW, I have told my friends to stop sending me e-mail. It appears that
may be the main source of trouble (long story). I can live without this
"infernal tool of Satan", and I may in the future.

Hey........I found a guy nearby who specializes in digging out
spyware, hackers, identity thieves, etc. I drop the CPU off on Monday
so there might be a small drop-off in my posting while he investigates.
When I announced I was going computerless, the people around here were
suffering with JG withdrawal. It seems I am not the only human who loves my stuff. Anyway, one last exorcism. If it fails, I will consign it to Satan for good.

Pc's stink...Used many, bought many

Mac, no Spam so far, no viruses.

Thanks for the tip. Bought a used MAC once. Never got around to using it.
Think my daughter got it.

I am back in business but not 100%. The tech guy said it was
loaded with spyware and other funky stuff. Lots of files corrupted, etc.
Anyway, he worked fast and cheap so I will use him again if I decide
to continue on. TBC................

Maybe next time (and with your professed level of computer knowledge/skills I'm pretty sure there will be a next time soon) he could teach you how to use a scanner.

Gosh I just love my own stuff (as long as it really is my own stuff).
Every keystroke leads the reader into wisdom/enlightenment
(or at least a "What the hell is he talking about?" or maybe,
"Oh no. There he goes again!") You , OTOH are mostly a run-on blowhard
who (apparently) has not had an original thought in years. It's okay though. Can't see how you can do much damage at this point in your
"career".

Made a decision. I'm going to the library for internet use from now on. Had this machine
in 4 times to 2 different guys and it is still screwed up.
I truly believe this is a good thing (a little Martha Stewart lingo) .
One less thing to maintain and it will free up a lot of time for other stuff which I have been neglecting.
