Wow. I did not expect that. I was hoping the Eagles would somehow pull out a win, but that game was amazing!

DD2 informed me via text that she will be in town for the Super Bowl, but of course she and the BF will be joining friends someplace fun to watch the game rather than hanging out with the parents. I guess we will have to find our own fun place to watch.

I remember driving in the car on Super Bowl Sunday in 2004 (the last time the Eagles were in the SB) and telling DD that she better enjoy the day because she might not see the Eagles there again for a long time. Fourteen years isn’t that bad.

Saw this on Twitter.

Looks like Philadelphia's fans are not in danger of losing their reputation anytime soon.

Some Boston reporter called Philly a poor man's Boston or a rich man's Cleveland LOL

I can understand you not liking the teams but what do you have against the cities? Have you visited Boston or Philly? Just curious.

My personal experience last year's SB here in Houston all we heard as volunteers from Patriots fans was complaints about Houston . The Falcons were first class people . At the end of the week lots of volunteers refused to mess with the Patriots fans . But sincerely not all of them were bad. I have visited Boston and Philly . Boston is a nice old town expensive . Philly never interested me . To me Philly seemed dirty and Boston seemed unfriendly. .... just sayin...

DH and I are watching this year's Super Bowl in Hot Springs (Oaklawn Casino, no less, which we only visit every couple years). A huge Patriots fan, DH is always "out-yelled" if we watch their games in our hometown.

Seeing some of the Jacksonville players with tears running down their faces took some of the joy out of the win for me.

Okay...admittedly...I do not follow NFL. The thread caught my eye because of the win last night which DH was super happy about.

Jimmy G is now the highest paid QB!

Quote:
The 49ers have signed quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to a five-year contract, completing their most important task of the offseason, according to a report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The deal is expected to pay San Francisco's new franchise quarterback $27.5 million per season, a new record.
